Arrive Shimla (City Tour of Shimla)

On arrival in Shimla on your own, check into the hotel. Later in the afternoon proceed for a city tour of Shimla. First stop would be the Sankat Mochan Temple, located amid the lush green and tranquil locals of Himachal Pradesh. Worshipers visit the temple to pay obeisance to the deities of Lord Rama and other notable gods of the Hindu pantheon. This majestic temple houses the deities of Lord Rama, Lord Shiva and Hanuman. Later proceed to the Indian Institute of Advanced Study, for some six decades the Governors-General and later Viceroys of India had shuttled from one unsuitable residence to another during their summer sojourns in Shimla. The Observatory Hill is a watershed which stands figuratively astride India. The waters from one side of the hill flow down to the Bay of Bengal, and the wash from the other heads towards the Arabian Sea. The Mall Road located in the heart of the town is the main street that is lined up with a myriad of restaurants, clubs, banks, shops, post offices and tourist offices. At the same time, the place boasts of the other exciting attractions that it houses, such as the Scandal Point and Kali Bari Temple. One of the busiest and more commercial areas of Shimla till date, this stretch is a mini world. The Shimla Mall Road is the one stretch, that truly celebrates the spirit of the hill town. Cannot not visit the Christ Church: Christ Church is one the oldest churches in North India and was built by the British in 1857 to serve the large Anglican British community in the area. The church is constructed in the Neo-Gothic style of architecture and anyone visiting Shimla should spend some time in this glorious structure. End the tour visiting the Scandal Point situated at the western edge of Shimla where two of the city's most important roads, The Ridge and Mall Road, converge. This pleasant small square which is over looked by the mock-Tudor state post office has the bizarre name of Scandal Point and where there is an intriguing name there must be an equally gripping story, which sadly, can be only loosely based on facts. Dinner at the hotel. Overnight stay at your hotel in Shimla.

Shimla – Day Trip to Kufri

Visit the Jakhoo Peak, a peak which is at an altitude to 2,500 meters. Enjoy the horse ride and yak ride while visit the peak. This is the highest peak of Shimla from where you will witness panoramic views of the Shivalik and the town of Sanjauli. Drive back to the hotel. Evening is at leisure. Dinner at the hotel.
