On this mountain holiday, rigorous hiking paths and trekking trails take you up in to the Dolomites to witness a kind of austere beauty that deserves a moment of silence. Dramatic vertical walls, sheers cliffs, and stunning steeples and pinnacles rise to kiss the sky, their bare, pale colour a sharp contrast to the lush forests and meadows below. Visit charming mountain villages, vast, medieval castles, hilly vineyards and green cities and come away as most do, in love with the Dolomites.

Arrive in Venice - Alta Badia

Upon arrival at the international airport in Venice, meet your private driver and transfer to a 4-Star Hotel in Alta Badia. Located in a large valley surrounded by gorgeous mountain peaks, Alta Badia is truly the ‘heart of the Dolomites’. Here you’ll find unique mountain landscapes speckled with ancient villages still true to centuries-old traditions and simpler ways of life. Spend your day exploring the area and observing the locals as they go about their day. (Meals at leisure. Overnight at hotel in Alta Badia.)

Valparola Pass – Hike to Rifugio Pralongià - Rifugio Bioch

After breakfast, meet your private professional hiking guide in the lobby of the hotel. Your hiking tour will start with a private transfer to Valparola Pass, where you’ll begin a gradual climb to the ruins of the First World War fortifications. After admiring the striking view of the massifs all around, you’ll continue across the grass-rock flank and reach the lush, emerald pastures of the Marmolada Massif, the famed ‘Queen of the Dolomites’. Unlike the rest of the Dolomites, which are composed of dolomite, the Marmolada is made of sparkling white limestone. Included by UNESCO on the World Heritage List, it’s the kind of austere beauty that deserves a moment of silence. Once you’ve had your fill of the gorgeous views, hike to Rifugio Pralongià and then continue along the same path to Rifugio Bioch, where you can have lunch (not included) Later, enjoy a gradual descent on a wide gravel road back to your hotel. Your feet may be tired, but your soul has been recharged. Unwind at leisure. Overnight at hotel in Alta Badia.

Riscone – Kronplatz - Bruneck

In the morning, a private transfer takes you to Riscone. Take a cable car up to Kronplatz, a bread-bun shaped mountain massif with spectacularly sprawling views of the surrounding mountain peaks. Kronoplatz is also home to the unique Corones Messner Mountain Museum set up by the extreme rock climber Reinhold Messner, as well as the Lumen Museum of Mountain Photography. Take a guided tour and soak in a bit about the history and topography of this beautiful region, before heading for lunch at the Alpinn Restaurant close by. (Entrance tickets included for both museums.) In the afternoon, you head to the nearby town of Bruneck for a 2-hour guided sightseeing tour. Heart and soul of the Puster Valley, Bruneck is a picturesque town and a popular tourist destination, with its notoriety reaching far beyond the region’s borders. Overlooking the town is the Bruneck Castle, which houses the Ripa Messner Mountain Museum (entrance tickets included). Take some time during your visit to explore the museum, then later, walk along the Via Centrale enjoying the ‘Sissi style’ architecture and the colorful buildings of the old town. At the end of the tour, enjoy a private transfer back to the hotel. Overnight at hotel in Alta Badia.

Alta Badia

Today is at leisure. Savour your last day at Alta Badia. (Overnight at hotel in Alta Badia.)

Val Gardena

After breakfast and check out today, enjoy a private transfer to your 4-Star Hotel in Val Gardena. The valley of Val Gardena is best known for skiing and rock climbing, as well as woodcarving, which has flourished here since the 17th century. Spend the day at leisure, exploring. Home to three rich and ancient cultures - Italian, Austrian, and the native Ladin, you’ll find all the road signs here written in three languages. In spite of that though, feel free to wander about and get lost. Overnight at hotel in Val Gardena.

Bozen

In the morning, meet your private driver in the lobby of the hotel and head to Bozen to start your 2-hour guided tour of the city and the surrounding area. Situated in a lush valley amidst hilly vineyards, this small green city is deeply in tune with nature yet bustling with city life. Walk around its streets lined with pastel-coloured townhouses and enjoy the delightful jumble of open-air markets, lively restaurants, beautiful cultural displays and unique medieval, gothic and Belle Époque architecture. At the end of your tour, meet your second private guide and hike up to the formidable Runkelstein Castle for an enthralling 1-hour visit of its medieval inner spaces. Lunch at leisure. In the afternoon, head back to your hotel. Dinner at leisure. Overnight at hotel in Val Gardena.

Alpe di Siusi

This morning set out for a cable car ride up to Alpe di Siusi, the largest high-altitude alpine plateau in Europe. Here, your private professional hiking guide leads you to the best viewing spots to admire the spectacular sight of the impossibly vertical Schlern Massif piercing the cerulean sky. Later, hike up to a rifugio for a quick rest, and continue towards the Gostner Schwaige for lunch. This will include a delicious cheese-tasting experience with Franz, your host. In the afternoon, return to the cable car and descend back to town. Rest of the day and dinner at leisure. Overnight at hotel in Val Gardena.

Val Gardena

Day is free at leisure to explore on own. Overnight at hotel in Val Gardena.

Merano

Post breakfast and check out, enjoy a private transfer to a 4-Star Hotel in Merano. Explore the charming spa town on your own. Take a dip in one of its famous thermal baths or simply walk about its colourful streets and admire its beautiful art nouveau buildings. Rest of the day and meals at leisure. Overnight at hotel in Merano.

Tscherms

After breakfast, meet your private driver in the lobby of the hotel and head to Tscherms. From here your private professional hiking guide leads you to the Salten Plateau. Famous for its wide larch meadows, the Salten Plateau was once a volcanic area and, together with the Renon, it is among the most spectacular mountain ranges around Bozen. Several hiking and biking trails offer magnificent views of the Dolomites and the nearby ranges. Drink in your fill, then stop at one of the traditional tyrolean huts for a delicious home-made lunch. (Lunch not included). Later, head back to the hotel. Rest of the day and dinner at leisure. Overnight at hotel in Merano.
