The Wild Side - Adventure
Upon arrival, your driver transfers you to your hotel in a private vehicle. You have the rest of the evening at leisure to explore the delightful Andalusian city. (Overnight at the hotel in Seville.)
Post breakfast, head to the city center to meet with your local guide. Today, you begin your Game Of Throne tour with a visit to the magnificent Real Alcazar, the location for the Water Gardens of Dorne. This ancient, almost 700-year-old castle has a strong Moorish influence, characterized by intricate tile work and lush, almost sylvan gardens, dotted with elaborate water fountains. Fans of the show will immediately recognize it as the private residence of the Martell family, in their capital, Lanza Del Sol. (Overnight at the hotel in Seville.)
This morning, your guide accompanies you to the ruins of Italica, a vast, well-preserved, ancient Roman city, where the last episode of season 7, ‘The dragon and the wolf’ was shot. In this episode, Jon and Danerys try to convince Cersei to join their war against the Night King, by showing her that the threat of the White Walkers is real. It is an intense episode with the ruins of Italica adding the requisite dramatic gloom to the scene. Head back to Seville in time for lunch and then later in the evening, proceed to Osuna, a beautiful village where you meet your local guide for a private tour. Visit the locations that served as Mereen and Dorne, as well as the Osuna bullring where one of the most intense scenes of the series was shot. (Overnight at the hotel in Seville.)
After breakfast head to the station to take your high-speed train to Barcelona. Your driver will receive you there and take you to your hotel. Once you’ve checked-in and freshened-up, head out on a private, 2-hour-long tour of Barcelona. It is a fascinating city with beautiful architecture, exceptional museums and celebrated beaches. Let your driver point out the important sights. Then spend the rest of the afternoon, exploring Barcelona on your own. Pay homage at the astonishing Sagrada Familia, visit the whimsical Park Guell or simply stroll down the delightfully popular La Ramblas. Overnight at hotel in Barcelona.
Post breakfast today, head to Girona by train to meet with your local guide for a private, half-day city tour. Located in the heart of Catalonia, Girona is a treasure trove for Game of Throne fans. Its medieval architecture, winding alleys and fortified towers form the backdrop of many popular scenes. Walk with your guide to Església de Sant Martí Sacosta, a church near the Pujada de Sant Domenech. Here a spectacular Baroque staircase combined with the façade of the cathedral form a grand public space, which were used as the exterior for the Great Sept of Baelor in King’s Landing when Jaime Lannister has a showdown with the High Sparrow. Next, follow your guide down the labyrinthine cobbled streets and winding alleyways of the Jewish Quarter. The streets of Claveria and Sant Llorenc were featured as the city of Bravos in the HBO hit series. Pass the Cathedral of Santa Maria to explore the neighborhood around the German Headquarters, a barracks-style fortification where major battle scenes were shot. Stop for photos, and then get up close to the cathedral to admire its magnificent baroque façade. Continue to Carrer Ferran el Catolic, an age-old Arabian bathing complex. Girona’s Arab Baths were brought back to life in steamy splendour during an explosive fight sequence between Arya and the Waif. In her toughest battle yet, Arya bursts through the Romanesque columns fleeing the Waif, whilst around her, disrobed men look on in astonishment. In the afternoon, you can visit the small Spanish village of Besalu on your own, to check out the picturesque locations that served as Highgarden, the settlement of House Tyrell in the show. Return to Barcelona in the evening. (Overnight at hotel in Barcelona. )
After breakfast, get a private transfer to the airport for your flight to Bilbao. Your driver will help you transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure. (Overnight at the hotel in Bilbao.)
This morning after breakfast, meet your local guide for a private tour of Bilbao. Visit one of the most magical places of the Basque coast, San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, which is pictured as Rocadragon in the land of House Targaryen. This is where an alliance between the house Stark and the house Targaryen is first forged. Next visit Muriola Beach located in the small town of Barrika where Tyrion Lannister and Sir Davos Seaworth were filmed walking together in an important scene which established the relationship between the right hands of the two great houses. In the evening your guide will take you on small walking tour of Bilbao. The city has more to offer than it seems at first glance. Walk down the narrow streets of the Casco Viejo (Old Town) to the Gran Vía and the New Bilbao and immerse yourself in the region’s rich history. Bilabao also boasts of one of the most famous museums in the world, the Guggenheim Museum. Stop by for a short but powerful dose of the finest modern art. (Overnight at the hotel in Bilbao.)
Today after breakfast, a private car takes you to the airport for your flight back home.
